March 2 - Nest set up. Crabpot barrier in place to prevent early eggs from ducks and geese prior to Osprey arrival
March 8/9 - Daylight saving time = 1hr. spring forward and the Canadian goose migration revs up back to the prairies of Quebec. For our Atlantic flyway geese, specifically the Ungava Peninsula. You'll hear the distance honks of the high flyers northbound in long Vs this week and next.
March 9 - Osprey sited near a bridge close by. This male is a speedster with a different internal clock - he is always the first to arrive.
March 15 - Osprey, unknown, spotted ~0900 in cove. Crab pot nest guard off.
March 29 - Human intervention. Removed 2 goose eggs.
